This installation is a living matrix, a digital ecosystem that operates at the interface between controlled design and uncontrolled chance. Inspired by the procedural logic of pioneers of electronic media art and their data-driven precision, the work generates an infinite sequence of ephemeral states.
In the current video, the genericartensemble takes up their term The end of pixel and reinterprets it.
A journey into undefined landscapes where the boundaries between reality and abstraction become blurred. Northern lights dance like apparitions in the sky, light painting draws fleeting patterns in the darkness. Human shadows flit past, anonymous figures, fragments of an indefinable time and world.
A noise runs through the visual worlds like a heartbeat. An audiovisual virus that slowly spreads, distorting perception and recalibrating the senses. Time stretches, slows down, becomes a viscous stream. The end of pixel is not the end, but the beginning of a new visual language
This work is an homage to experimental electronic music and a journey through abstract spheres that pushes the boundaries of the traditionally visual. The visual elements move artistically and impulsively in sync with the music, creating a deconstructed mosaic of shapes and colours.
Since the beginnings of the genericartensemble, gae has worked with recurring terms in its audiovisual concepts: abstraction, space, perspective, rhythm, sound. These terms also appear in the current work. Nature and technology are mixed in the flow of time. Water is in motion, seeking its way, just like our ideas in our projects. In contrast to our penultimate work, the endeavour is less rhythmic and more to follow a flow.
"_nvs_bl__m__nt" continues the tradition of the genericartensemble's video works of the last three years.
In the search for new audio-visual images, futuristic animations were created, which result in a tension and ambivalence between nature and technology. The animal sequences are taken from journeys of Gunnar from Australia and Africa.
Interpretation of the Improv - Festival 2018, Bremen by the genericartensemble
Presentation for the customer Wesco at the Ambiente 2019 trade fair / Frankfurt.
Inspired by the history of data storage to today's 4K resolution, the new work goes forward by gae to deconstruct the world of images. Terms such as "Pop art" and "End of print" have influenced our work. In addition of the experience of recent years in the fields of architecture, graphic design, typography, sound and deconstructing of audio-visual data will be added. The resolution of pixels has no end ...
